Austin Aries vs. Bobby Roode Feud Must Continue Past TNA Hardcore Justice 2012

Austin Aries and Bobby Roode have been overshadowed a bit in recent weeks, due in large part to the Aces and Eights storyline. Still, this is the top feud for the TNA World Championship, and their rivalry must continue past Hardcore Justice tonight.

Aries and Roode have fantastic chemistry both in the ring and on the microphone. There is still plenty that can be done with these two stars to make this one of the best rivalries of 2012. More importantly, with the top title contenders all locked up in the Bound for Glory series, it doesn't make sense for Austin Aries and Bobby Roode to split any time soon.

TNA, and wrestling companies in general today, desperately needs long-term feuds. It needs to tap into its creative team's creative juices in order to provide fans with exciting moments and long-lasting memories. You won't find those types of moments in one- or two-month feuds. Instead, you need to build a long-arching storyline that will captivate fans.

TNA currently has the luxury of providing its fans with long-term feuds because it only has one TV show per week. While this is a disadvantage when compared to the WWE's ability to bring in more viewers, it is an advantage when it comes to crafting storylines.

TNA's creative team isn't spread as thin as the WWE's because it only needs to fill two hours of programming per week. This should allow it to build better feuds, though that's obviously debatable if you've watched the programming.

Still, TNA has been rejuvenated of sorts this summer. The Bound for Glory series has been a massive hit, and people are intrigued by the Aces and Eights storyline. More importantly, Austin Aries has leaped towards the top of the business and is one of the best overall performers in the world today.

Considering how much time and money it invested into Bobby Roode, TNA would be doing itself, Roode and Aries a disservice by pushing him out of the main event and World Championship spotlight.

Expect Aries and Roode to put on another solid matchup at Hardcore Justice. An Aces and Eights invasion would be a perfect way to extend Aries and Roode another month or two. All TNA would have to do is have Aces and Eights destroy Aries or Roode, or even both, to lead to a draw. This would further push Aries vs. Roode and the Aces and Eights storyline.

In the end, everybody would win, including the fans.
