A fantastic partnership between Mark Edmondson and Iwan Kojs took the game away from Abergele as Dolgellau won by 121 runs.

Gele were left frustrated as Dolgellau were 60-5 at one stage, Karl Higgins was the pick of the bowlers at this stage as he took 3 for 36. This included the all important wicket of Phil Leeds. Rana Das took the wicket of the Dolgellau captain Jon Mills as he was starting to look dangerous.

But this brought Edmondson and Kojs to the crease. They put on over 100 runs in their partnership before golden arm Ed Rooney finally took Edmondson's wicket, he departed for a fantastic 77.

Kojs continued a while longer before he fell once again to Gele's spin king Rooney as he turned the screw on the Dolgellau batsmen.

Joy Chakrobaty and Huw Wilcox also batted well but Rooney and Das both took the wickets to get rid of them as Dolgellau finished on 212 all out.

Captain Rooney took 3 for 42 and also Das took 3 for 48.

Gele were on the back foot from the start as Ben Garnett was adjudged LBW to Sion Francis for two. Rooney then continued on his way as he made 20 for Gele.

David Moulson chipped in with 18 and young Josh Lloyd batted well for his 14 but these were the only players to make double figured for Abergele as they were dismissed for just 91.

Gethin Edwards, 3 for 10, was the pick of the Dolgellau bowlers, but all the bowlers chipped in.

This was a great performance for Dolgellau and one that shows why they are currently top of the league.
