Virginia DE Will Be First Cavalier Ever Picked No. 1
On April 26th, Chris Long, the All-American Defensive End from the University of Virginia will be the first Cavalier ever to be chosen with the first pick in the NFL Draft.
It's not that the school hasn't had players that weren't worthy in the past, some things just work out this way. Perhaps its name recognition with Long, who is the son of NFL Hall-of-Famer Howie Long, or perhaps its just because he's really worthy.
It's up to Jeff Ireland and the Miami Dolphins at this point, but Long seems to be everything that organization wants in a player. My prediction is that this young man will be a good one, and that Miami will pull the trigger and make history with Long.
Just in case you were wondering, here are the highest chosen Cavaliers since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970...
