As Adam Schefter reports on Twitter, Michael Vick left the Philadelphia Eagles' preseason game after hitting his throwing hand on center Jason Keice's helmet in the first quarter.
Trainers looked at Vick's left hand immediately following the play and he spent the rest of the first half on the sideline with his thumb on ice.
Prior to the injury, Vick had completed three out of four pass attempts for six yards, while also taking a sack as he tried to scramble out of the pocket.
Eagle backup quarterback Mike Kafka entered the game following Vick's departure and closed out the first half, throwing for 31 yards and an interception.
Vick will be evaluated at halftime and will not return to tonight's game. An update on Vick's condition should be available after the game.
9:19 p.m. EST Edit: Latest reports indicate that x-rays have come back negative on Vick's left thumb. Though that doesn't eliminate structural damage, it sounds as though the injury is not thought to be serious at this time.
