Should the San Francisco Giants Move Buster Posey to First Base?

BR StudiosFeatured ColumnistAugust 9, 2012

The San Francisco Giants are considering moving Buster Posey to first base full-time.

Some would say this move is a smart one, considering that the organization's top priority is to keep Posey safe from any injuries for the rest of the season.

Moving Posey to first base would also likely give the offense a bump, considering Brandon Belt isn't hitting well. The change would also give young catcher Hector Sanchez a chance to get more playing time at the catcher position for the Giants.

With all the positive outcomes of the change, comes risk.

Posey has been working in sync with the Giants pitching rotation all season long, and moving him to first could cause issues on the mound.
