East Lansing— After sitting out almost a full year because of a shoulder injury, Lawrence Thomas is ready to play just about anywhere if it means getting on the field this fall for Michigan State.

Fortunately for Thomas, a redshirt freshman from Detroit Renaissance, the Michigan State coaches feel the same way. So instead of a menacing 6-foot-3, 290-pound linebacker, the Spartans are now molding another possible star at defensive end.
