Key Things to Look for in the Steelers vs. Eagles Game

0 of 4

The NFL is back again and on the brink of having yet another great season. The Steelers are trying to recover from their opening playoff loss to the Denver Broncos.

Facing a contract dispute with one of their great players, the Steelers will have to find a way to rebound. With the Philadelphia Eagles, they are coming off of a mediocre 8-8 season.

In the grueling NFC East they will have to become better in order to reach the playoffs and their ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl. Here are some interesting key things to look for during the Steelers vs.Eagles preseason game.

Untapped Potential

The Steelers have drafted potential with their later picks in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Linebacker Sean Spence was drafted in the third round with 86th pick from the University of Miami. Leaving high school as a 5-star recruit and going to college, he has not completely lived up to the billing.

As for the fifth-round pick Chris Rainey, the speedster has darted through Florida but to play at the next level he will need more than his speed. Though his athleticism will get him on the field, Rainey will have to learn how to run in between tackles as well as pass block.

Mike Wallace

Mike Wallace is in a contract dispute with the Steelers management. Wallace wants to sign a long term deal with the Steelers, but the Steelers want to save their money. His deep play ability will be missed by Ben Roethlisberger as he will have to use Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown to replace Wallace.

Andy Reid

It was revealed that in training camp the son of Eagles coach Andy Reid, Garrett Reid had passed away. Though Reid is in a time of grieving, he has still shown up to work to coach the Eagles. The Eagles are going to dedicate next season to Garrett Reid and the team is going to rally around his death.

Quarterbacking Play

Michael Vick’s numbers dropped after having a stellar year where he was one of the NFL Most Valuable Player Candidates. After leading his team to an 8-8 record, fans are hopeful to see if Vick is back to his old ways.

In the case of Nick Foles, he is the rookie who had an amazing career at Arizona. Foles is going to be on the field to show that he is a capable backup quarterback.

Vick, who often runs a lot and gets hurt, will need a backup quarterback and Foles could show that during the preseason.
