The United States men's basketball team advanced to the next round of the Olympics by pulling away from Argentina and winning 126-97.

Team USA completed the preliminary rounds with a perfect 5-0 record and are the top team in the field. Moving forward, they will now compete in the quarterfinals as the squad moves closer to the gold medal match later this weekend.

Beginning on August 8 and concluding with the gold medal match on August 12, there is plenty of basketball left to be played. Refer below for the remaining schedule for the American squad.

Wednesday, August 8

USA (5-0) vs. Australia (3-2) at 10:15 p.m.

Friday, August 10

USA-Australia winner vs. Argentina-Brazil winner at TBD

Sunday, August 12

Bronze Medal Game at 11:00 a.m.

In other words, Team USA's potential path to the gold medal could feature Australia, Argentina and either Spain or Russia. It will be a daunting task for the Americans, but they are well equipped for the challenge and are ready to create their own bit of history in these London Olympic games.
