Olympic Ukrainian Synchronized Swimmers Share Kiss, Twitter Freaks Out

It doesn't take much to stop the world from spinning. In some cases, it takes two Ukrainian synchronized swimmers kissing to have everyone freak out.
Yahoo! Sports reports that some smooching went down at the Aquatic Center, and it involved synchronized swimmers Daria Iushko and Kysenia Sydorenko.
The report states the duo just finished their routine, one that earned them sixth overall, and they decided to seal it with a kiss.
Now, kissing at the Olympics is quite common. Yahoo! Sports has a gallery dedicated to the act of placing lips to an affectionate object, animate or not.
Only this time, it was two women kissing on the lips, not the cheek or a friendly hug. For some reason, this really resonated with anyone who watched.

Here are some tweets from the reaction that is far more surprising than the act in the pool.
Here is a play-by-play.

Followed by incredulity.
Did Ukraine just kiss each other or what

And of course someone making it topical.
A pair of Ukrainian synchronized swimmers kissed after their Olympic routine, so I guess no Chick-Fil-A sponsorship for them.

Two women kissed in a pool, and now we can move along with our lives and watch the rest of these amazing Olympics.
I have no idea if this is just a moment between two affectionate pals who were pleased with their routine or if it meant much more.
At the 2012 Olympics, this just shouldn't matter.
