Milwaukee Brewers: A Spring Training Peek

With spring training coming up, it’s time to start taking a look at Major League Baseball more meticulously.

The Milwaukee Brewers need to bulk up their pitching as soon as possible.  The pipe dream of keeping CC Sabathia in a Brewers uniform came to an end when he the Yankees threw an absurd amount of money at him (seven years/$161 million). 

Ben Sheets is gone to free agency. The Brew Crew recently obtained pitcher Braden Looper from the Cardinals and relief pitcher Trevor Hoffman from San Diego.  I really hope these are not the only moves the team plans on making. If so, it could be a long and excruciating season.

Currently, the starters are Yovani Gallardo, Dave Bush, Looper, Jeff Suppan, and Manny Parra.  The Brewers' top guns are Gallardo and Parra—if you’re not a Milwaukee fan, you probably haven’t even heard of them.  They have both shown flashes of greatness. [Read more...]
