Why don’t they just call it the Willie Warren Award?

Oklahoma freshman Willie Warren was named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Rookie of the Week for the seventh time this season following his 27-point game at Texas on Saturday. The seven honors are the second most in Big 12 history and one shy of the eight earned by Kansas State’s Michael Beasley last year.

Warren, a 6'4", 207-pound guard for the 25-2 Sooners, was 10-for-20 from the field and 6-for-12 from three-point range in the 73-68 loss to the Longhorns. He also added six assists, a pair of rebounds and a steal.
