WWE: Top 5 Questions Going Forward After Raw
Daniel Bryan absolutely killed that match with John Cena.
Tonight, we witnessed stolen Ferraris, the return of Kelly Kelly and Shawn Michaels in his home town.
As I do every Monday night following Raw, I present the top questions going forward. These questions are meant to stimulate conversation and give us pause, so we can examine current storylines.
Shall we have at it?
Does CM Deserve Our Respect?
Did anyone else know that CM Punk “deserves respect”?
Apparently he does, because that is all I hear him say anymore. In my opinion, we have gone from his infamous “pipe bombs” down to an annoying firecracker.
CM Punk is a master of the microphone, and while I agree with some of what he has been saying recently, I am starting to find his tone annoying. The “I demand respect” line is a bit too cliché for someone like CM Punk.
Before everyone in the IWC accuses me of never being satisfied, hear me out.
Punk is one of the guys who can be entertaining no matter what side of the fence he is playing on. It does not matter if he is a heel, face or a tweener as long as he is allowed to cut loose on the mic.
All I have seen is him whining about respect. I would be fine with this if he added something more to the conversation than just that.
CM Punk has lost the spark that set him apart from every other guy on the roster. Some fans thought a heel turn may just be what he needed to become exciting again. The last two weeks have not inspired me, to say the least.
What changes would you like to see happen to CM Punk?
Are You Excited About the Return of Wade Barrett?
Before his injury, Wade Barrett seemed destined to be one of the top men in the WWE. What will his role be when he returns?
On Raw, there was a video package announcing the imminent return of Barrett and the “Barrett Barrage.” No one can be sure when his return will happen, but at least he is on the road to recovery.
I think Wade Barrett has all of the tools to be a champion. The WWE could use him back on the roster to pump new life into the product.
It would be hard for me to imagine him coming back in a main-event role, however. I imagine he will return and make an impact, but slowly work his way back up the ladder.
Who would you like to see Barrett feud with upon his return?
What Role Will Shawn Michaels Play at SummerSlam?
Tonight, Shawn Michaels announced that he will be in Triple H’s corner when he meets Brock Lesnar in the ring at SummerSlam.
So, what does that mean?
Basically, Shawn is only being added to the equation to ensure more star power for SummerSlam. The WWE has been adamant that they want SummerSlam to be the second-biggest pay-per-view of the year, only behind WrestleMania. Throwing a bunch of names onto the card is a good way to get more buys.
HBK will always be my favorite wrestler of all time, but I really do not need to see him thrown into events anymore. He does not really add much and it just comes across as being forced.
The intriguing part of tonight’s Raw was when Brock Lesnar told Shawn that he would “see him before SummerSlam.” I imagine that next week we will see a clip of Shawn Michaels laid out in the parking lot with the assumption that Lesnar took him out. Feel free to quote me.
Are you happy to see Shawn in Triple H’s corner, or does it even matter?
Is Ryback Interesting to You?
The question seems too simple, but I really just want to know. Does Ryback excite you as a fan?
The reason I am asking is because every time I forget about Ryback, he comes back onto television. It seems like he will go a week or two without even being on Raw, and then all of a sudden, he returns to beat up two more jobbers.
The problem tonight is that we already saw him defeat Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins. That match happened a few weeks ago at Money in the Bank.
Some fans think I am being too demanding, but is it really that hard to just have him get into a real feud? I am now confident that Ryback can defeat two jobbers. I am ready to see him advance to the next logical step in his career.
What is that next step, you ask? The United States championship.
That belt is doing nothing around Santino Marella’s waist, so why not give it to an up-and-coming star?
Ryback will only garner more interest when he stops beating up jobbers and starts making an impact. I am not saying throw him into the main event. No one wants to see him rushed, but it is time to move on.
Who should Ryback face next?
Does the Big Show Have a Chance to Win at SummerSlam?
The Big Show? I hate to steal the Miz’s material here, but…really?
Tonight’s episode of Raw closed out on the Big Show laying out both John Cena and CM Punk. I am curious if this has swayed any of the WWE Universe to start believing in Show’s chance at winning.
Before tonight, I do not think I have heard anyone tell me they think the Big Show is going to win at SummerSlam. Did tonight change anyone’s opinion?
I think they did this to throw doubt into the match. I am still convinced that either John Cena or CM Punk will win the bout, but I can appreciate the WWE for trying to shake things up.
Although I disagree with Big Show even being in the main event, I can at least appreciate them for trying to make him seem like a legitimate threat.
Who do you think will win at SummerSlam?
