Longhorns Baseball

* The Longhorns Baseball team wrapped up a four-game sweep of Illinois-Chicago:

Sophomore right-hander Brandon Workman started Sunday, trying to keep Texas’ string of strong starts going after the Longhorns gave up just three runs in the first three games. He did even better.

Workman retired the first 17 batters he faced and had a perfect game going through five-plus innings, until Flames center fielder Steve McGuiggan collected an infield single.

The 6'5" Workman allowed two hits in seven-plus innings, striking out seven batters with a great curveball and not walking anybody.

* Meanwhile, Texas baseball coach Augie Garrido will be back after serving a four-game suspension.
