White Sox reporters and officials, you have been warned. If you ever leave Chicago, you are getting a pie right to the kisser via A.J. Pierzynski.
That's precisely what happened on Friday night when the White Sox beat the Angels with a walk-off home run from Alex Rios.
CSN Chicago reports on a momentous occasion and the only way Pierzynski could imagine sending off a well-liked reporter.
Sarah Kustok is leaving Comcast SportsNet and going to New York to work for the Yankees Entertainment and Sports (YES) Network.
The only proper way to send her off seems to be to treat her like one of the boys, giving her a pie in the face as if it were she who hit the walk-off bomb.
She takes what is either whipped cream or shaving cream like a champ, and offers a vow I am hoping she makes good on—she will get Pierzynski back.
The White Sox catcher doesn't mess round with his pie-throwing, smashing every last ounce into her face, and she comes away completely covered.
At least he gives her a towel, which is sort of gentlemanly. This is a great moment for a reporter who no doubt leaves behind many other great memories.
Now the plotting begins to get Pierzynski back. Perhaps getting him traded to the Royals.
