The Baylor Bears men's basketball team will take on the 12th-seeded Colorado Buffaloes in the opening round of Big XII Tournament today in Kansas City, Missouri. In their sole previous meeting of the year, the Bears defeated the Buffaloes at Colorado 68-57.
Never in conference history has the 12th seed upset the 5th seed in tournament play. The Baylor Bears nearly did so in 2006 when they lost to, ironically, Colorado.
For the Bears, a win today against Colorado will help further solidify their bid to the NCAA Tournament, which would be a major milestone in the rebuidling of the Baylor program under head coach Scott Drew.
For Colorado, a win today won't get them into the big dance, but it will be the first time in Big XII history that a 12th seed team advances beyond the first round of the tournament.
Game time is 3 PM (Eastern)/2 PM (Central) and it will be televised on ESPNU and ESPN360.
