KANSAS CITY, MO - Star guard Angela Tisdale scored 23 points and forwards Rachel Allison and Jessica Morrow added 16 points each.  But all of that was not enough for the Baylor Lady Bears to stop the hot-handed Texas Longhorns.

The Lady Bears made an 11-0 run to take the lead in the first half of the game. They headed to the locker room at the end of the half with a 16-point lead.

But the Longhorns opened the second half with a 19-3 run to tie the game at 48-48, and they never looked back. They went on to a 76-61 win, outscoring the Lady Bears 52-21 in the second half.

The loss continued what may be the wackiest Big 12 Tournament in conference history.

On the first day, the powerful Oklahoma Sooners lost to the worst team in the conference, Missouri, 70-64. The sixth-seeded Nebraska Cornhuskers fell to the second-worse team in the conference, Kansas, 73-67.

In the quarterfinals, eighth-seeded Iowa State upset top-seeded Kansas State in overtime and, of course, two-seed Baylor fell to Texas.

The first game of the semifinals today pit eighth-seeded Iowa State against fourth-seeded Texas A&M in the first game. The second game features seven-seed Texas against three-seed Oklahoma State.

For the nationally-ranked Lady Bears, yesterday's loss was a season-record third straight. They now must prepare for the NCAA Tournament. But despite the early exit from the Big 12 Tournament, they should receive not only a bid but a decent seeding for the tournament, in which they will try to stop their three game slide.
