The Big XII Conference suspended Texas Tech men’s basketball coach Pat Knight for one game after making comments about the officials.

Knight told reporters after Tech’s 79-73 loss to Texas A&M, “I don’t care right now what the Big 12 thinks. They tell us to send tapes in and that obviously doesn’t work. Call (someone in the league office) and talk to’s just tough. I don’t care about me, it’s my kids.

"My kids bust their butt and they have enough of a time playing against A&M let alone have somebody else they have to play against. I just think it’s a shame.”

Knight got a technical in the second half for arguing a foul. Earlier this month the conference reprimanded Knight for his behavior during the Nebraska game on Jan. 31.

Against Nebraska, Knight was ejected after getting two technicals for running on to the court to argue a foul call.

The Red Raiders (12-15, 2-10) next game is Wednesday at the Texas Longhorns (18-8, 7-5). Assistant coaches Stew Robinson and Chris Beard will take over the coaching duties for Knight on Wednesday.
