Dealing down to the wire, the Pittsburgh Pirates have obtained first baseman Gaby Sanchez from the Florida Marlins for Gorkys Hernandez.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports tweeted that the deal has been completed:

Official: Sanchez deal to #Pirates is done.

Peter Gammons tweeted that the Pirates also will receive minor league right-handed relief pitcher Kyle Kaminsta in the deal:

Pirates got minor league RH reliever Kyle Kaminista in Sanchez deal

The Associated Press (via Yahoo!) reported that the Marlins will also get the Pirates' extra-competitive draft pick in 2013.

So the Bucs get Sanchez's right-handed bat to complement the left-handed bat of Travis Snider, whom they just acquired. Sanchez, 29, showed promise over the past few years, but he took a step backwards this year. No doubt this is why the Marlins were willing to move him.

Year Games HR RBI AVG
2010   151 19  85 .273
2011   159 19  78 .266
2012     55   3  12 .202

So, is this the Bucs' last deal before the deadline? Stay tuned!
