Imagine being a rookie coming into the NFL. You think you know everything, but in reality, you know very little. As they say, hindsight is 20/20.

We spoke to some legends of the game who know from experience what things rookies should avoid and what they should do.

The days of showing up in a mink coat for his 30th birthday party and then being arrested for cocaine possession are in the rear-view mirror for players like Michael Irvin. The Cowboys' Hall of Fame wide receiver is uniquely qualified to give rookies a pointer or two on what to avoid. And so are the rest of the NFL legends we spoke to.
