As the long wait for the season to begin comes to a close, college football fans around the nation are becoming more and more anxious by the day.

For Duck fans, the long wait since being in Autzen Stadium and seeing the Ducks beat UCLA is coming to an end, and before you know it, the stands will be packed for the start of this season.

With the 2012 season set, the Ducks will be attempting to defend their three straight conference titles, but they understand that this may be the toughest one yet.

Before the season begins, here is a look at the 2012 schedule and the where, when and what happened last year for the Ducks.

Week 1: vs. Arkansas State

When: September 1

Time: 10:30 p.m. ET

Where: at Autzen Stadium

Television: ESPN

2011 Result: NA

2012 Preview: Oregon opens the season against Arkansas State, and it should provide the new quarterback a chance to ease into the schedule. While the Arkansas State offense could put up some points, the Ducks defense has the speed and skill to have this game wrapped up by halftime.

Week 2: vs. Fresno State

When: September 8

Time: 6:30 p.m. ET

Where: at Autzen Stadium

Television: TBA

2011 Result: NA

2012 Preview: After an opening week game against Arkansas State, the Ducks have it easy again as they face Fresno State at home. Hopefully by now the Oregon offense is clicking but even if it isn't, Fresno State is still a team in transition.

Week 3: vs. Tennessee Tech

When: September 15

Time: 3 p.m. ET

Where: at Autzen Stadium

Television: Pac-12 Network

2011 Result: NA

2012 Preview: Tennessee Tech is the third straight team to come to Autzen Stadium, and it will be by far the easiest game the Ducks play. This game should allow the team to be fully prepared for the opening of the conference schedule.

Week 4: vs. Arizona

When: September 22

Time: TBA

Where: at Autzen Stadium

Television: TBA

2011 Result: Oregon, 56-31

2012 Preview: The Ducks will get their first look at Rich Rodriguez during this game. While the Ducks should roll, it will be interesting to see the changes and offense that Rodriguez has brought to Arizona.

Week 5: at Washington State

When: September 29

Time: TBA

Where: at CenturyLink Field

Television: TBA

2011 Result: Oregon, 43-28

2012 Preview: The game against Washington State is extremely intriguing. The Cougars will be led by new head coach Mike Leach and could surprise a lot of people in 2012. With this game being on the road, the Ducks need to remain focused and earn a big road win.

Week 6: vs. Washington

When: October 6

Time: TBA

Where: at Autzen Stadium

Television: TBA

2011 Result: Oregon, 34-17

2012 Preview: Washington comes to Autzen this year, and the Ducks are looking to continue their dominance over the Huskies. While Keith Price and the Huskies offense could be tough to stop, the Washington defense does not have what it takes to stop the Ducks.

Week 7: at Arizona State

When: October 18 (Thursday night)

Time: 9 p.m. ET

Where: at Sun Devil Stadium

Television: ESPN

2011 Result: Oregon, 41-27

2012 Preview: For the third time in four weeks, the Ducks play a new coach in the conference as they head down south to take on Arizona State and Todd Graham. The Sun Devils lost a lot of key talent on both sides of the ball, and while the crowd may initially be tough on the Ducks, Oregon should cruise.

Week 8: vs. Colorado

When: October 27

Time: TBA

Where: at Autzen Stadium

Television: TBA
