Camping World Truck Series: Pit Stop Rule Will Ruin The Series

Mike VorndranContributor IFebruary 22, 2009

The new rule for the Camping World Truck Series that doesn't allow the teams to change tires and add fuel on the same stop will ruin the competition.

Today's race was silly. During the yellow flags, teams had to pit twice—once for tires and again for fuel.

This not only defeats the whole purpose of the rule—created to save the teams money—but it also creates extra chances for crew members to get hurt, cars to hit each other, rules to be broken, etc., since all 36 trucks can stop regardless whether they are on the lead lap or a lap down with this new rule.

NASCAR needs to find better ways to save money that don't endanger the lives of crew members for no reason.
