Croatia gave the United States a game for three quarters in the team's opening-round contest.
It's now time to take that result, learn and get better heading towards another gold medal.
Angola is up next for the Americans. Here are three stars who will dominate on Monday, July 30.
Sue Bird went 2-for-6 in the opener against Croatia. As one of the most respected players in the game, her performance wasn't acceptable.
She needs to be more aggressive, take more shots, be aggressive on the dribble and lean on her talent to get the job done. Bird was way too passive against Croatia.
Bird will come back with a strong game against Angola. She's due.
Tina Charles scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the opener against Croatia. She went 5-for-11 from the field, and dished out a couple of assists to go along with her rebound production.
Charles does it all on the floor, and she impacts the game just about as much as anybody on the roster.
Angola will get a heavy dose of Charles in the paint on Monday. She'll have another quality performance.
Diana Taurasi only provided eight points in the opening game against Croatia. It was a showing that we aren't accustomed to seeing from her.
Taurasi is one of the best basketball players in the world. She is lights out with her jump shot when she gets it going. Against Croatia, Taurasi failed to hit her shots. She went 2-for-6 from the perimeter.
If she can knock down a few shots early to boost her confidence, Taurasi will have one of those memorable performances. She'll come ready to play.
United States crushes Angola 94-60.
