The rich just keep getting richer...
While the rampant speculation from those who follow USC recruiting mostly centered on whether defensive backs Priest Willis or perhaps Tahaan Goodman would snag the last scholarship the Trojans had to offer, Houston, TX. defensive end Torrodney Prevot stepped in and gave his verbal commitment to the men of Troy, according to an article by Scout.com's Ahmard Vital.
Prevot, who only carries 210 lbs on his 6'4" frame, is one of those exceptional athletes who will pack more weight on at the next level, but brings extraordinary quickness to the position.
And speaking of position, he will likely play a hybrid stand-up defensive end/linebacker position much like the "elephant" popularized by Pete Carroll and ran to perfection by Brian Cushing in years gone by.
In viewing film, it is striking just how athletic the rangy Prevot is, as he leaves hapless tackles wondering exactly what that blur was that is now standing over their fallen quarterback.
With Prevot's verbal, the Trojans are now out of scholarships to offer for the 2013 class. And we haven't hit August yet.
Rated a 4-star prospect by both ESPN and Scout.com, Prevot held over two dozen offers, including those from powerhouses LSU, Oregon, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.
