Montreal Canadiens: Much Ado About Nothing

Gary WhittakerCorrespondent IFebruary 21, 2009

MTLLogo2 Here is Bob Gainey during a press conference yesterday on the fact that several players on the Montreal Canadiens have a relationship of some kind with an alleged criminal.

With the fact that speculation was rampant that the story would involve so much more, there was nothing in the story from La Presse that would explain the recent slide that the Canadiens are in. In fact, there is nothing more for even the naysayers to use against the Habs either. With so many man games lost to injuries to key players, and the fact that certain veterans have not stepped up their gameplay during that same time frame, this is a simply case of the Habs holding the fort as best they can, until some of their key players come back.
