Men's 470
The winds of the English Channel blew in favor of the Australian duo of Mathew Belcher and Malcolm Page, who took gold, once again making keeping the home country off the gold.
Belcher and Page won five of the 10 preliminary races and were only in competition for the gold with the British tandem of Luke Patience and Stuart Bithell when the final race sailed off.
The Aussies finished second in the final race, tallying more than enough points to take the gold comfortably. The British finished fourth in the final and secured silver in the event, while Argentina's duo of Lucas Calabrese and Juan De La Fuente netted a bronze medal after finishing third in the final.
Women's 470
In a much closer race, New Zealand's Jo Aleh and Olivia Powrie took gold, ousting Great Britain's Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark.
Tied in points prior to the final race, the Kiwis sailed to first place while the British finished ninth. Lisa Westerhof and Lobke Berkhout of the Netherlands finished sixth in the final, enough to bring them bronze.
