Cal Loses Starting Right Guard Dominic Galas for Three Months

Dominic Galas, who was projected to start at right guard this season, will be sidelined for three months after having surgery on a torn pectoral muscle, coach Jeff Tedford said Tuesday. Galas was injured lifting weights on July 20 and underwent surgery Tuesday, according to the San Jose Mercury News. “Dominic pulled his pec off his muscle bone,” Tedford said at Pac-12 media day. “Initially [the doctor's] talked about maybe three months for rehab, which would put [his return] somewhere in the October range.”
