In a defense-dominated game, France kept composed during the last minutes and was able to shut the door to retain its title.
Croatia took Bronze in convincing fashion against Hungary in a 33-26 win. Ivan Cupic and Blazenko Lackovic, scored eight and seven goals a piece to fuel a high-octane offense that proved too strong for Hungary.
