China became the first country to complete a clean sweep, coming away with five gold, two silver and a bronze in five events, no other country had more than two medals.

Chong Wei Lee of Malaysia, who had the best chance to snatch a gold away from the Chinese in the Men's Singles, admitted to the Chinese domination of the sport, saying how China had a plan of succession, while other countries' best players come and go with time.

The Men's Singles competition between Dan Lin and Lee was the closest of all five events.

Denmark earned a silver in Men's Doubles and a Bronze in Mixed Doubles.
