Great Britain dominated the regatta, totaling nine medals, the best performance in British rowing history.

The British have gotten progressively better in each Olympiad, going from two in Atlanta, to three in Sydney, to four in Athens, to six in Beijing, to now nine in these London Games.

What has made the most impact is the increase of female talent caching up to the male medal-winners, as they provided three of the country's four gold medals in the Women's Pair, Women's Double Sculls and Lightweight Women's Double Sculls.

The U.S. earned a gold in the Women's Eight and bronze in the Men's Four and the Women's Quadruple Sculls.

New Zealand delivered a strong performance, notching three gold and two bronze medals, the closest medal tally to the home country.
