After 25 minutes, it’s scoreless between the Los Angeles Galaxy and FC Dallas.

Early in the first half, a ball possession war in the East Texas heat gave way to FC Dallas earning their first chance on goal in the fifth minute. A free kick found the feet of Andrew Jacobson, but the volley from close distance was not well hit.

In the eighth minute, a free kick from Juninho was wide and eventually cleared by FCD’s backline. In the 10th minute, Jackson nearly broke loose on goal but won a corner that was too long for Zach Loyd. A shot for Mike Magee in the 12th minute from Marcelo Sarvas was not delivered with pace.

In the 17th minute,  FC Dallas won another free kick opportunity at the expense of Marcelo Sarvas. After the initial clearance, the home team continued to dominate possession and had their next set piece opportunity in the 20th minute of play for Daniel Hernandez, but he pulled it wide.

LA’s first corner in the 22nd minute nearly found Omar Gonzalez but he headed it high. In the 24th minute. Andrew Jacobson won a corner for the Hoops but was headed wide by Loyd.
