Southern Illinois has sunk to the bottom three in the Missouri Valley Conference standings following their 72-78 home loss to Indiana Stateon Wednesday.
The Salukis actually had a higher overall shooting percentage in the game, but the Sycamores hit 11 of 21 shots from behind the arch which made the difference. The loss was the third in a row for the Salukis and fifth in their last six games.
Illinois-Chicago beat Wright State 77-66 on Wednesday for their second straight win and third in their last four contests. The Flames owned the glass with 42 rebound next to Wright State’s 29. The Flames also hit an amazing 25 of their 27 free throw attempts. Only two games remain in Illinois-Chicago’s regular season which concludes next Friday at Loyola.
