A team's uniform is just as important as the team itself. That's why the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers have had the same uniforms for years. That's why we still wear Michael Jordan's jersey decades after he retired from the Chicago Bulls.

Of course, a talented roster and a brilliant coach are vital to a team's success, but a jersey is what the fans will buy and cherish.

While some teams—like the Miami Heat—got their uniforms right, other teams failed miserably. The Philadelphia 76ers and others need to change their uniforms immediately.

5. Toronto Raptors

The Raptors' current uniform wouldn't be so bad if we didn't know how awesome their jerseys used to be. I'm talking about the classic purple uniforms with the ferocious dinosaur on the front. That retro jersey takes you back to the exciting days when Vince "Half-Man, Half-Amazing" Carter was balling in Toronto.

The current uniform is simply plain and boring. If your team is named after one of the most savage creatures ever, your jersey should be equally fierce.

4. Denver Nuggets

It's time for a change in Denver. The uniforms are slightly outdated and the color scheme is losing its edge. When the jersey first debuted, the yellow and baby blue colors were bright and different. Now, they remind me of a nursery.

Gold nuggets are obviously yellow, so I wouldn't expect that aspect to change. However, just tweaking the blue to a darker shade would make a huge difference. Either way, the Nuggets are overdue for a newer uniform.

3. Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder are the future of the NBA. Their style of play is action-packed and full of excitement. Kevin Durant is a breath of fresh air who electrifies the court whenever he touches the ball. Russell Westbrook is a thrilling, unconventional point guard. As a team, the Thunder are simply captivating.

OKC's uniform, however, is the complete opposite.

The Thunder's jerseys don't match the team's vibe. Oklahoma City needs to upgrade the uniforms to be more exciting and less ordinary. The jerseys should be just as impressive as the players wearing them.

2. Philadelphia 76ers

Like the Raptors, the Sixers definitely downgraded when they revamped their uniforms. The Iverson-era jerseys were a fan favorite, complete with a basketball whizzing under the bold "Sixers" across the front. While it's understandable as to why Philly has moved on from that uniform, the current one could be much better.

The red, white and blue color scheme definitely works for Philadelphia—which was once the meeting place for the founding fathers of the United States. The old Sixers logo with the current color scheme would be the perfect uniform for the team.

1. Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks' uniform looks like Christmas Day gone wrong. It's better than the old jersey that featured a deer on the front, but it's still pretty ugly.

The Bucks need to revamp their entire uniform, both color scheme and font. With Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis leading the team, they might have a bright future. Their jerseys need to brighten up too, because the forest green isn't doing them any justice.
