AC Milan Road to Miami

UEFA Champions League Record: 2-1-3

AC Milan would love to become dominant again, and they could start with this exhibition game. However, they have a lot of work to do.

Their lead scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic struggled in the Champions League, scoring 5 goals out of 31 shots. Their offense also struggled mightily, and they also had trouble distributing the ball.

Their defense could be their saving grace. Goalie Christian Abbiati led his team with 36 saves.

Abbiati can be tough problems for Chelsea this Saturday.

UEFA Champions League Record: 3-1-2

Chelsea is also a struggling team when it comes to offense and defense.

Lead scorer Didier Drogba only made six goals out of 27 attempted shots. His teammates managed to score 19 goals during the Champions League. They’ll have to score without Drogba, who isn’t on the roster this year.

Their defense could be a huge problem for Chelsea. Goalie Petr Cech led his team with 58 saves. As impressive as that is, Chelsea’s defense cannot let that happen. It’s to many saves for one goalie, and Chelsea can suffer over time.

AC Milan and Chelsea will renew their 37-year rivalry at Miami.

These teams have a long history against each other. Both teams have a victory against each other. They also tied twice from the Europa League in the 1960s and the Champions League in the 1999/2000 season.

This will mark the first time both teams will battle on neutral ground.

Chelsea 2, AC Milan 1

The old saying is defense wins the game. It will come true when Chelsea holds off AC Milan on Saturday.

AC Milan has the better team than Chelsea, who is trying to find itself through these exhibition games.

However, Chelsea’s defense holds better than AC Milan’s. Chelsea’s defense is strong in the beginning, while AC Milan let an average of three goals in.

Expect Chelsea to overcome AC Milan in this tough matchup.
