These two popular Premier League squads should draw quite a crowd from their USA based fans, who will gather to watch the 160th meeting between the Spurs and Reds.

The last time Liverpool appeared on North American soil prior to this summer was in 2004, so this clash between two English foes will be a treat to every football fan in the surrounding area.

Liverpool's North American Tour

This will be the last of three games in which Liverpool will spend on U.S. soil, and it will be their final tune-up before they begin Premier League play August 18th against West Bromwich Albion.

The Reds are coming off their worst ever showing in the Premier League finishing 8th overall under former boss Kenny Dalglish last season.

New manager Brendan Rodgers will be looking to gain some momentum heading into league play following a 1-1 draw at Toronto FC, and a 2-1 defeat in Fenway Park against AS Roma.

Tottenham's North American Tour

Like the Reds, Tottenham also finds themselves with a new manager, as former Chelsea head man Andre Villas-Boas takes over for the sacked Harry Redknapp.

The Spurs are coming off of a season in which they were unfortunately denied a Champions League bid, even though they finished fourth in the Premier League.  Ironically enough, Chelsea was awarded their spot despite finishing sixth in the league—thanks to their status as defending champions.

This match will be Tottenham's second of three in the states this summer.  They drew 1-1 in their opener against the Los Angeles Galaxy, and will take to the pitch again on August 1st against the New York Red Bulls.

A Match of Historic Proportions

As previously noted, this will be the 160th match between the two clubs.  Liverpool has won 73 of the previous meetings compared to Tottenham's 46 while carrying a +64 goal differential.  There have been 40 draws.

Most recently, the clubs played to a 0-0 draw on February 6th, 2012.  Over the last four meetings, Tottenham carries a sparkling record of 3-0-1 and has outscored Liverpool eight to one.
