Duke Beats Up Little Sister

It doesn't take a child psychologist to analyze Duke's win over St. John's for what it really was: Big brother gets picked on at school, comes home frustrated, and beats up little sister.

Far from a referendum on the ACC-Big East controversy, Duke did manage to snap a two-game losing streak. But eventually, the Blue Devils will have to go back to the playground—where they've been getting nothing but wedgies recently—and Wake Forest is waiting to steal their lunch money.

Bobby the Bulldog

Somebody has to hire this guy, and Georgia, we've decided it's you. Take "The Sweater" and his unruly eyebrows and take him far away from any Duke broadcasts. College basketball was so much better when Knight was trying to beat Krzyzewski rather than teaming up with Brent Musburger to stroke him.

Seriously, Georgia. The Micro Touch Magic is on us.

Beilein to the Tournament

The year was 1998, and Will Smith was "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" while President Clinton was denying doing the same. It was also the last time Michigan made the Big Dance.

That perversion of hip-hop and politics appeared safe for at least one more season, but the Wolverines just won't let the bubble burst. Despite losing five-of-six and seven-of-nine at one point, Big Blue still has the résumé to close a nasty chapter in its hoops history.

Meaning Big Willie and Slick Willie might be left singing, "Just the Two of Us."

Columbus Centers-of-the-Century

Know what else makes us feel old? The fact that it's not too early to start putting together best-of-the-2000s lists. And it can only add insult to Michigan's injury that during the Wolverines' drought, Ohio State has put enough quality centers on the floor to warrant a top five.

Bracketbuster Breakdown

David versus Goliath is what makes the NCAA tournament the most captivating postseason format in sports—well, that and office pools. Meanwhile, David versus David is really just a matchup of conferences without national TV contracts.

But if you don't do your Bracketbuster homework, your secretary will once again be the only one who sees Davidson-over-Georgetown coming.
