Why the Mountain West Should Be a BCS Conference

This past year, the Mountain West Conference proved that it has the ability to compete with the best teams in the country. In comparison to the WAC, the MWC is 2-0 in BCS bowl games, and both times they embarrassed their opponents.

Also, during the regular season the MWC dominated the Pac-10. For example:

UNLV: Arizona State (23-20)

BYU: UCLA (59-0)

Utah: Oregon State (31-28)

New Mexico: Arizona (36-28)

Let's also not forget Utah giving it to Alabama, and Boise State getting beat by TCU. Since the first non-BCS conference team busted into the BCS (Utah), the BCS has been trying to embarrass us, and they did it once with Hawaii, but that's what makes the MWC unique. UNLV, who was about in the middle of the pack, beat No. 15 Arizona State on their own turf.

So as far as the BCS goes, we may never be admitted, but look for TCU to break into it next year and embarrass those so-called prestige schools.
