Three Chimneys Farm announced on Sunday that 2008 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1) and Preakness Stakes (G1) winner Big Brown, will not be returning to Vinery Australia for the upcoming 2012 Southern Hemisphere breeding season.

The U.S. champion three-year-old male of 2008 sustained a laceration to a hind leg which, although not structurally serious, did become infected, delaying the healing process. Veterinary advice has recommended against shuttling the horse, as the extensive travel and quarantine process would not be conducive to his recovery.
