After rejecting Manchester United's most recent offer, Sao Paolo are now confident of keeping Lucas Moura for at least one more season, Daily Mail have revealed.

A couple of days ago, Sir Alex admitted United's interest in the young playmaker. However, the Red Devils boss also insisted that no agreement has been reached with the Brazilian club over a potential Lucas deal. Via

We haven't reached an agreement for the player. We've shown an interest but until such time we reach an agreement we can't say he's ours.

The Red Devils are reluctant to match Sao Paolo's £30 million valuation and the deal for Lucas is reportedly off. Wagner Ribeiro, Moura's agent, confirmed. Via Daily Mail:

Lucas Moura won't leave. He is happy at Sao Paulo. we have to forget this subject. There is no possibility he leaves now. Manchester United made an offer, which was rejected and they won't make another one as they reached their limit.

The Sao Paolo youngster is a versatile player able to play a number of different positions. And United have missed such creativity, attacking flair and dribbling that Lucas possesses ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left for Real Madrid in 2009.

The Brazilian star is one of the most promising youngsters in the world of football at the moment, and Sir Alex would certainly relish the opportunity to have Lucas in his team.

Is Manchester United set to miss out on yet another big talent?
