Ryan Lochte is going to play this Olympic experience a tad differently this time around, even as it pertains to girls.
The swimmer set to take the world by storm is flying solo for the London games, something that may be more by design than you think.
ESPN's Sam Alipour reported on what to expect at Olympic Village, and Ryan Lochte was among those interviewed for a column peppered with sexual possibilities for departing athletes.
My last Olympics, I had a girlfriend -- big mistake. Now I'm single, so London should be really good. I'm excited.
That isn't to say his heart hasn't belonged to another before. He may be going solo this time around, but last games he was busy canoodling with another.
The Beijing Olympics saw Lochte with fellow swimmer Caroline Burckle. Player Wives has a bit more on this relationship that seems to have ended at some point back in 2008.
The former Olympian was a bronze medalist in Beijing but will be watching from afar like most of us in this go around.
Not much else is known about Burckle whose Twitter handle is @carostilwell. According to information on that account, Burckle is now a health and wellness life coach.
She has since moved on and so has Lochte. The man is set to dominate the pool shortly, and the party behind the scenes will unfold in tandem.
Lochte will go into London a single man, but we will see if that remains the case by Closing Ceremonies.
