Time for a game: If you could pick one player from last year’s basketball team and place him on this year’s squad, who would it be?
For me, the answer is easy: center Darian Townes. No, he wasn’t the leading scorer on last year’s team, and he only started eight of the team’s 35 games. But, by the end of the year, he was a serious low-post threat. Of all of Heath’s recruits, he seemed to respond the most to Pelphrey (or at least to someone on his staff).
Oh, how we could use him this year. Damn those pesky eligibility rules.
