A host of Premier League clubs have been interested in signing Robert Lewandowski, but Goal.com revealed yesterday that they must up their bids in order to sign the Polish sensation.

Chelsea have been searching for a forward ever since Didier Drogba left this summer. After seemingly being rejected by Porto's Hulk, the Blues turned their attention to the Bundesliga.

The London-based club is now completely focused on signing Lewandowski after Edinson Cavani was said to be unable to adapt to Chelsea's style of play, according to The Mirror.

Even Maik Barthel, the sriker's agent, confirmed that unofficial offers were received. Via Goal.com:

Unofficially there are offers from English top clubs. We respect the contract situation in Dortmund and don't want to take part in speculation. A £13 million transfer fee is not suitable.

Borussia Dortmund are desperate to keep their best goal scorer after losing Shinji Kagawa (Bundesliga Player of the Year) to Manchester United. However, if the right offer arrives, Dortmund may be tempted to sell the striker.

Lewandowski admitted to TVP, a Polish television station, that he would like to join the Premier League (Daily Mail):

This (Premier League) is a league that I would like to play in, and I hope it happens sometime. Although I am happy at Dortmund, I always like to aspire to greater heights.

According to ESPN, Chelsea have already had a £17 million bid rejected, but the Blues aren't ready to give up the chase for Lewandowski.

Meanwhile, Oscar confirmed he had a Chelsea medical, but delayed making a decision on whether or not to join the Blues until after the Olympics.
