A strong performance by Abergele gave them an 8-2 victory over Bethesda, as Gele reversed their battering to the same team at the beginning of the season.
Winning the toss and bowling first, Gele were on the front foot from the start as Karl Higgins took the wicket of Huw Pritchard for six with the score nine. This was caught at first slip by Selwyn Morris.
Wickets continued to tumble for Bethesda, as Higgins took the wicket of Nick Roberts thanks to a smart low catch from David Moulson.
Rana Das then took over taking apart the middle order of Bethesda. He took the next six wickets. This was also thanks to some more smart catches as Gele's fielding was very encouraging for captain Ed Rooney. Moulson added another catch at second slip, Higgins took two catches in gully and keeper Ben Garnett took one also—all off Das's bowling. This was Das's first five-wicket haul of the season and one showing that he is back in great form.
Seven of Bethesda's wickets were taken behind the stumps. This was completed as Garnett took an edge off the bowling of Amer Jamil, who rapped up the innings after Sam Painter took a catch at gully.
It was a great performance in the field for rampant Abergele. Das finishing with figures of six for 21 off his 12 overs. Higgins finished with two for 24 and Jamil two for four.
Gele's batting got off to a bad start as Jamil and Moulson went early.
This brought together Martyn Hedge and Rooney who took Gele to needing 15 runs before Rooney departed for 14.
Hedge batted well on a sticky wicket to grind out 31 runs off 88 balls. This was a patient innings and one of importance as Gele rapped up the win with six wickets left.
Gele will be hoping for another dominant performance as they take on bottom of the league Brymbo 2nds at Pentre Mawr next Saturday.
