Credit: Facebook Floyd Mayweather still has about two weeks left until he is released from a jail sentence for domestic violence against his ex, Josie Harris, according to his website FloydMayweather.com, which has a countdown clock until midnight on Aug. 3, concluding his time behind bars. But even while he’s locked up in the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, Mayweather’s team has continued to run his business as smoothly as if he was in control himself. This includes selling t-shirts online that boast an image of the boxer’s face and the words “FREE MAYWEATHER.” The shirts, being promoted on Facebook and Twitter, are selling for $50 each. These shirts will become obsolete once the four-time ESPY Fighter of the Year gets out of jail (a few weeks early, at that). And yet, it’s a smart marketing ploy to make a few extra dollars, keep the boxer relevant in his physically dormant state, and test the loyalty of his fan base.
