USL - Peter Byers Back With Montreal Impact

Gary WhittakerCorrespondent IFebruary 19, 2009

Byers2009 Count Peter Byers among another key player from the 2008 season to rejoin the Montreal Impact as they resume their CONCACAF Championship quest as well as the 2009 USL season.

Byers, 24, joined the Impact last season just prior to the roster freeze and scored three goals in seven regular season games as well as scoring a goal during a CONCACAF Champions League game.

Byers, who was trying out with the MLS'  San Jose Earthquakes, ended up declining an offer due to a contract disagreement. In my humble opinion, San Jose's loss is definitely Montreal's gain.
