Over the past few days, rumors have been running rampant about the status of Kharma (real name, Kia Stevens). As various sites reported last week, the star's profile was moved to the alumni section of the roster on WWE.com (which is reserved for former talent), indicating she had been released.
For her part, Stevens has remained coy about the matter on her official Twitter account, refusing to either outright confirm or deny the story, merely making several cryptic posts that hint about something being amiss with her and WWE.
In this week's (subscribers-only) F4W Newsletter, Bryan Alvarez gives an update on the former TNA Knockout, noting that sources from within the company are confirming she and WWE have parted ways.
The reasons cited are that WWE's creative team have been unable to come up with new ideas for her return, as well as the feeling she may need some time away (Kharma has faced some well-publicized, and very tragic, personal issues over the past year).
While nothing has been made official, sources say Kharma is no longer with WWE...She told friends that WWE wasn't sure what to do with her and told her they were going to give her time to clear her head, but that the door was wide open for her to return.
It will be interesting to see where Stevens goes from here. A return to TNA, where she made her name as monster heel Awesome Kong, may not be entirely out of the question.
It's also possible that WWE may be looking to rejuvenate their stagnant women's division in the future, as hints the recent signing of Sara Del Rey hints, and Stevens will be brought back to the company.
