The Lions seem to be the favorite pick to miss the playoffs, and there are certainly some questions surrounding them.

First, will they all be arrested before the season even starts?

The question of discipline is one that will haunt this team all season long, especially if it has the misfortune to add any more arrests.

The real issue will be on-field discipline, though. Far too many times last year, players did something that cost the team yards and, in some cases, killed drives.

Is one a reflection of the other?

Newly extended head coach Jim Schwartz has his hands full right now, and the arrival of the regular season will only ratchet the intensity up.

Speaking of discipline, the defensive front is made up of a powerful group of players who occasionally have moments where their aggression gets the better of them. Not just with penalties, either. Sometimes, they are too eager to get into the backfield and can leave the secondary to clean up the middle of the field.

Still, there is not a more dominant offensive line in the NFC North. Ndamukong Suh and company should have most of the teams they face worried for the safety of their quarterback.
