IconThe Orlando Magic are in a fairly good spot right now.
 
They are coming off a season in which they went to the playoffs. Even though they were swept, they are still young and still growing.
 
Stan Van Gundy was a good hire. He will bring an up-tempo offense that should suit a young squad.
 
I think the Magic should try to re-sign Grant Hill at the mid-level exception—he's that savvy vet who can still give you 15 a night. Nelson and Arroyo should come off the bench, but Dooling shouldn't start either. The same with Reddick and Ariza—off the bench.
 
Rather than signing Vince Carter (which wouldn't be a good move) or Rashard Lewis (who doesn't play any defense), Orlando should try to sign Chauncey Billiups to run the offense. That way the Magic can focus their draft attention on a scoring swingman (who plays "D") and someone to help out their bigs up front.
