Los Angeles Galaxy vs. Vancouver Whitecaps: Future Bright for Jose Villareal
A player of the future that will be counted on to produce for Bruce Arena’s Los Angeles Galaxy is Home Grown Player Jose Villareal. The 18-year old LA Galaxy Academy product made his MLS debut late in the match against the Portland Timbers on Saturday at Jeld-Wen Field in Portland, Ore., a match the Galaxy won 5-3.
While Villareal is not expected to start or play on Wednesday against the Vancouver Whitecaps (kickoff: 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET, KDOC and KWHY), the potential for Villareal to make a splash in Major League Soccer is there for him to grasp.
“I was excited, I’m glad that I went in those couple minutes that I went in,” Villarreal told LAGalaxy.com’s Adam Serrano after the match. “It felt great, the stadium was packed and there were a lot of people and it felt really good.
“I’ve got to keep working and training hard. Obviously, it’s working so I need to keep at it.”
