Hole 17 | Par-4 | 453 yards
Hitting the fairway pinched by a slew of bunkers on the left and dense scrub and bushes to the right is quite a task with a major on the line. The hole bends left to a green bunkered on either side.
Woods' tee shot with an iron was straight on the center of the fairway leaving him with 207 yards for his second shot.
He chose a five-iron for the second shot and he misses way to the right into edge of the slope to the right side of the green about 60 feet away.
From there, his third shot was a bump-and-run that looked straight at the hole from the get-go but misses inches from the cup.
He taps-in for par.

Hole 16 | Par-4 | 336 yards
A blind tee shot reveals none of the trouble ahead, notably the 13 bunkers strewn about like discarded toys and the new dunes right of the fairway. A smart layup should provide a wedge approach for birdie.
Woods went with the driver on this hole for the first time this weekend.
He finds the very deep rough on the right side of the green. The marshalls spent a very good three minutes to find his ball.
Woods took a big swing for his second shot from that rough and the ball was so deep that it just flew about 10 feet.
His third shot was a chip shot that almost goes inside the hole but goes by seven feet.
He then made the par-saving putt.

Hole 15 | Par-4 | 462 yards
Three bunkers up the right side should deter some players from carrying the corner of this slight dogleg right. Obstacles line the approach between the dunes.
A cluster of scattered cross bunkers sit well short of the green with three more traps greenside.
Woods went with an iron for his tee shot and was left with 240 yards to the hole.
From there his second shot rolls through the right green-side bunkers and lands on the middle one.
His bunker shot was a very difficult one which made him take a very awkward stance but he makes a good looking shot that almost drops for a birdie.
But he overshoots it by about 12 feet. That's the distance he will have for the par-saving putt.

Hole 14 | Par-4 | 444 yards

Parallel to 13th and in the opposite direction, the 14th hole features four fairway bunkers, including one new one, staggered up the right side near a row of dunes.
A new swale short of the green catches missed shots. Shots lost to the right at the green could end up out-of-bounds.
Woods' tee shot landed on the right side fairway bunker. From there he lays up and get the ball with 120 yards of the hole.
His third shot lands on the green just eight feet from the hole. Good chance for Woods to save par.

Hole 13 | Par-4 | 355 yards
His second shot from the bunker, 163 yards away, was a lay up to within 120 yards.
A must stick-landing with his third shot and the incoming wind.
He sticks it on the green but misjudges the wind as it catches it and stops it short of the hole by about 35 feet.
Very real possibility of dropping a shot here.
Hole 13 | Par-4 | 355 yards
This par-four welcomes players to "Murder Mile," six successive par-four's that collectively measure almost 2,500 yards.
Even with a new tee adding 15 yards, this is the easiest hole of the bunch, although players must avoid 14 bunkers along the way. The soft-sloping green accepts bouncing shots in front.
Woods must make birdie here but he mishits the tee shot into the right side fairway bunker. You can hear him scream some frustration after his tee shot.

Hole 12 | Par-3 | 198 yards
Out-of-bounds along the right can really muddy a scorecard. The green is raised and angled, making it tough to hold. Shots should be held up against the ocean's winds from the left, avoiding six bunkers.
Woods begged the tee shot to "bite! bite! bite!" and the ball obeys. He sticks the landing above the hole less than 10 feet from the hole. Very good chance for a birdie coming up.

His much needed birdie-putt doesn't fall. He had the right line but not the right speed so he settles for par.

Hole 11 | Par-5 | 598 yards
Woods lays up with his second shot. He hits a roller and avoids the bunker on the left, will have some 150 yards to the hole with his third.
Hole 11 | Par-5 | 598 yards
With a new back tee lengthening the hole by 59 yards, only the longest hitters have a chance to clear the two left-hand fairway bunkers to set up an opportunity to go for the green in two.
Most will play right of those bunkers, trying to avoid a fairway bunker up that side. From there, the hole curls left to a green with four bunkers.
Woods goes with driver here looking for the more aggressive approach but there was a strong left-to-right wind and it catches his shot pushing it to the right side of the fairway right on the gallery path.

Hole 10 | Par-4 | 387 yards
The course does a 180-degree turn to start the long march back to the clubhouse. A blind tee shot, pushed back some 50 yards, leads to an angled fairway with two bunkers on the right and one farther up the left. A small green is smothered by five bunkers in front.
His tee shot was more aggressive here and he lands it on the middle of the fairway leaving himself with only 146 yards to the hole.
He then sticks the landing of the approach shot within four feet!

Hole 9 | Par-3 | 165 yards
Woods makes bogey!
The shortest hole is demanding and difficult. It calls for precision to avoid the nine bunkers that ring the green. Finding the proper shelf in the green takes even more accuracy.
Woods' tee shot finds the rough on the right side of the green.
From there, Woods misses hitting the ball cleanly and falls short of the hole by 15 feet.

Hole 8 | Par-4 | 416 yards
As the course returns to the railway tracks, OB is again a factor all along the right side from the elevated, exposed tee. A new bunker has been added right of the fairway to complement the large bunker in the sand hills to the left of the fairway. The bunker left of the green is the deepest on the course.
Woods hits his the tee shot down the middle of the fairway. His second shot from 189 yards lands on the green and he will have about 30 feet to manage for a birdie.

Hole 7 | Par-5 | 592 yards

Woods holes the chip shot and gains one of the three strokes lost back! Long way to go but at least this will give him some confidence to go ahead and attack the course.

Woods' third from 115 yards rolls through the right side of the green and stops on the slope on the top edge.
Hole 7 | Par-5 | 592 yards
The repositioned fairway bunkering has tightened the landing area. The new green has been moved back and to the left, leaving a large dune to its right.
New dunes have been created to the left of the green, and the approach has four bunkers that will really test the accuracy of those going for it in two shots.
Woods' tee shot goes to the right and finds the rough. He lays up with his second shot.

Hole 6 | Par-4 | 492 yards
Woods makes triple bogey!
This hole will cost Woods the tournament!
The ball was buried and almost to the wall of the bunker. He could have gotten drop from an unplayable lie but Woods elected to play it out and the ball hits the wall and bounces back to the other side of the bunker and once again buried and close to the wall!
He takes a stance on his knees outside of the bunker (never seen this before) and takes a swing at it and the ball bounces on the edge of the bunker and incredibly out of the bunker but goes backwards on the green about 45 feet from the hole!
From there he tried the bogey-putt and leaves it about four-feet short. He tried for the double-bogey putt but pulls it and had to settle for a triple bogey!
Woods had played this hole at three-under and now the hole took all those shots back! This was a luxury Woods could not afford today, this pretty much dashes away his hopes of a win.
Adam Scott's lead remains at three over Snedeker.
