Virgin F1 Team: Soon To Be a Reality?

Ryan WoodAnalyst IFebruary 18, 2009

Richard Branson has made a legitimate bid for the Honda F1 team, set to rival the management buyout fronted by Nick Fry and Ross Brawn.

The British Billionaire, owner of the Virgin Group which consists of over 100 companies, including; an Airline, Retail, Train Company, Health Company, Telecommunications, Finance, Radio and many more.

The bid has yet to be confirmed by Virgin, Richard or Honda, but reliable sources close to the Japanese manufacturer have said the bid is 'legitimate'.

Could Branson be the saviour of Honda, and Jenson Button's career? The odds look good with Virgin still turning a profit in 2007, and Sir Richard Branson being ranked 20th richest man in the UK.

How do you feel about Virgin being involved in F1?

My personal view is very supportive.

**Update**

Confirmation of Virgins bid has been announced by Honda - and is supposedly one of several. Expect a decision by March 1st on who is successful.
